Sailing Yacht SEA BUNNY

Kampot

From Phnom Penh we took a bus down to Kampot in the south of Cambodia. After Phnom Penh, Kampot is a relaxing place, set on a river close to the sea and the Bokor Mountain

Bokor Mountain used to be a popular hill station in the days of French colonisation and prior to the Khmer Rouge period. There was a sealed road, now a potholed track, a casino/hotel, a church and a summer residence for the King. All are now in ruins. The only occupied buildings are the modern ranger station, also operating as a backpacker lodge, and a small buddhist monastery,

As well as a trip up the mountain our visit included a boat trip down the river, a dance show at a local orphanage and a car tour of the local area, visiting a cave complex with underground temples.
